Marketing properties in India is different ballgame now.

Marketing by the real estate brokers in India has changed in last 2 years. Now real estate brokers need to be internet savvy to survive in cut throat competition. Boom in last couple of years have led to drastic increase in real estate brokers. But only those brokers who know how to use internet for lead generation can survive in the long run. Gone are the days when the deals were few and known to only few people. Now even seller can post their properties online and search for the prospective buyers. 

Brokers are more savvy now and more customer focused. Lot of well educated and experienced people are entering in this field. Competition is much tougher than earlier.

To survive in this market, here are the few tips:
1. Be customer focused. At the end of the day, customer should feel that the broker added value by presenting good deals and saving precious time.
2. Use sites e.g magicbricks.com, 99acres.com, propertygyan.com, etc for generating leads. Propertygyan.com is different from other sites as PropertyGyan is itself a broker with lots of clients and reach. 
3. Generate or buy data to generate leads. 
4. Use sites like twitter.com, linkedin, etc to generate leads.
5. Have office where the customer can drop in and have face to face contact.

To summarise, Traditional methods of marketing listings or prospecting for real estate buyers, sellers or investors are expensive.  Moreover, they don't work that well in a slow real estate market. Now is the time to work smarter.  That is why we have to embrace online marketing to promote our real estate services.  We have found that we achieve better results while spending less by leveraging the Internet's broad exposure to prospective clients.
